  • The only issue that really matters to me is climate change. Or maybe plastic.

But this is the same as the picture of the statue of liberty that is used to “debunk” sea level rise by showing the level at the same height, despite being taken 100 years apart. Were they taken at the same tide? Same time of year? Is there any other factor at play here?

This is a “shoe is on the other foot” moment, and we should be as skeptical of that which supports our beliefs as we are of that which contradicts it. Maybe especially so because confirmation bias is a hell of a drug.

I was an engineer is school. I’ve always been good at fluffing up my writing, but it always annoyed me that I had to make things longer when I felt like I was already done.

When one of my first engineering reports said “this has to be no more than 2 pages long” as opposed to “at least” I knew I had chosen the right school. Lol

I’m not even sure what you’re arguing anymore.

Are you actually trying to say you did not say “They didn’t decide”? Because it’s right there, just a few posts up. Literally word for word.

Are you really not smart enough to just go look back after I told you you said it? Or are you just grossly dishonest? Who are you lying for here? You can’t honestly believe you can gaslight, because it’s still right there for me to look at.

Lol, the reason it’s in quotes is because it’s quoting you.

It’s in quotes because I was quoting you. If it had been in quotes when I quoted it from you, I would have done something like “‘They didn’t decide.’” Although I wouldn’t have even done that, because I’m honest and not trying to be right. I would have wondered why I misinterpreted it. You don’t strike me as all that dumb, but to not even go and look three posts up to see if you had quoted it seems incredibly dumb, especially if you are basing your whole argument on it.

I never claimed anything was “rigged”

You literally linked to two people saying it was rigged with the link text “they didn’t decide” and are now trying to argue that you never claimed it was rigged. This is amazing. You’ve got yourself so tied up trying to be right or trying not to be wrong, rather than figure out what’s right, that you don’t even know which way’s up anymore.

My dude, you are the one making claims.

I used the word argument, not claims. Are you suggesting you aren’t making an argument?

Again… Manufactured consent. Why would two senior politicians make claims and then backtrack upon them without admitting they were wrong in the first place?

So, how exactly did they rig it? You’re making some vague claims, but can point to nothing.

Who has told you not to talk about electoral reform in an election year? I’ve never heard that.

On top of that, there are plenty of people who are working to change our election system the whole time. The problem is the “I hate the two party system!” People by and large just vote every few years. I work with some locally that are trying to change things from the ground up.

One thing you got wrong is that Bernie got screwed. He got demolished by Clinton, by 12% points and millions of votes. It wasn’t even close. Democrats wanted Clinton, and the major complaints about the DNC during the primary was that they said nasty things about him in an email and gave her some debate questions. That’s it. It made no difference in the outcome.

  • Clinton won her primary through voter suppression by the DNC and corporate

I’m sure you’ll be able to back this up with some facts.

If she “demolished” Sanders, and then lost to Donald Trump, that means Trump is therefore the “best” candidate. That’s your logic here.

At no point did i say she was the best candidate. I even explicitly said that i voted for Sanders, implying i thought he was the better choice. I’m just pointing out the reality that democratic voters overwhelmingly supported Clinton over Sanders.

30% of the time opinions are 9-0.

sometimes they all rule the same way.

    It decidedly is not.

    Lol

I argued with the notion that all of the 3 justices were far right.

So quibbling about how far right they actually are, rather than the actual point that the court is obviously much further right than it would have been had Clinton won.

I kind of feel justified in my “strawmen.”
