When I was a kid growing up in the Middle East in the 80s and 90s I idolized the hollywood/US TV western lifestyle. They all seemed so effortlessly lavish and nice. All sitcom/domcom families had large homes and all the kids had their own rooms and those kids didn’t need an allowance. They could get jobs like waitresses or paperboys that earned a half decent pay that allowed them to afford whatever the hell they wanted. I lived in Dubai they forbade all child labor. Even if those laws were ignored in some circumstances, they were generally quite strictly enforced. So unless you were a debt-slave camel jockey kid, you were not going to work at any job.

I legit thought that that was the reality of many people. Even young adult slackers with chronic unemployment issues still somehow had small houses bigger than any apartment I knew. Of course this was myth, and ever since the 2000s rolled along with nearly 40+ years of stagnant wages AND rising costs of everything else meant that that idea is dead.

It isn’t just Disney. Look up Migration. They gave the mallards huge bills while the ducks had narrow ones.

You don’t know half of it. The sheer amount of overwork farmland is going through world wide is causing soil depletion like no tomorrow. We may even end up seeing a full blown worldwide famine in some years time when it gets to the point that we simply cannot revitalize farm land.

We produce such an incredible glut of food it isn’t funny. If we took all the surplus that we make we could feed the whole of China for an entire year. That is how much is being thrown to waste.

Holy shit they were not just wrong, but how wrong was scary. I will also never forget how on the internet shortly after 9/11 (albeit those view points predate 9/11) made the whole clash of civilization between the rational and intelligent and scientific west and the barbaric Muslim world that is stuck in the 12th century or something.

They made the then scientific lead of the west a result of a core, rock solid trait of the west that was reached purely through discussion and debate and based only on facts. Meaning it cannot be done away with that quickly.

But barely in the past 15 years (maybe even less) view points that would be seen as an absolute joke became mainstream, and not only that, the same loonies are the ones in charge now. Ironically in the early covid-19 time many were acting all shocked that Muslim countries not only had lock downs and that there was no resistance to them… as if Muslims are in such denial of modern anything that they think they cannot be barred from being sick or something.

And then they claimed that the Muslims morons who DID defy lockdowns and became super spreaders were purely unique to the Islamic world. Never mind the fact that religious people of all stripes (Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians… my god the Christians! Christians Koreans were singlehandedly responsible for making covid-19 a problem in Korea!) Fucked up, they still acted like it was purely a Muslim problem.

I wonder how many of them now even realise just how fucking FAST the entire world order they claim is a deep intrinsic trait is falling apart.

What is so incredible is that we are living st a time with such massive food surplus that it would blow the mind of anyone living in the past… but they will let all of it go to waste and just add bullshit to the food just because they can…

You cannot shoot a restricted anywhere other than an approved shooting range.

Non-restricted weapons have very little control in Canada. This is why a lot of people were pissed at the constant addition of more and more guns. Guns that were non-restricted suddenly became prohibited. These kinds of sweeping bans are not good. Hell we could do away with a lot of bans in canada but just keep the licensing scheme. That is working well enough. There is simply no need to ban semi-autos at all.

This is why debating or having any discussion with them is beyond worthless. If they have nothing. They will simply pull it out of their ass.
